The body of an octopus

Octopuses are invertebrates, which mean that they are boneless Because of that, octopus loses its shape when it is pulled out of the water. Interesting Octopus Facts: All octopuses have head, called mantle, surrounded with 8 arms, called tentacles. The octopus is a soft-bodied, eight-armed mollusc of the order Octopus. Around 300 species are recognised and the order is grouped within the class Cellophane with squids, cuttlefish and Nautilus.Octopuses are ocean creatures that are most famous for having eight arms and bulbous heads. Some other fun facts: They have three hearts and blue blood; they squirt ink to deter predators; and being boneless, they can squeeze into (or out of) tight spaces. They are quite intelligent and have been observed using tools.   Scientific name: Octopoda https://www.onceuponapicture.co.uk/portfolio_page/the-rather-interesting-octopus/     Picture from Once upon a picture
